Find the right journal, and know why.

Describe the manuscript, set your priorities, and get ranked journal recommendations with transparent reasoning: why each journal ranks, and why one was excluded.

Weave Atlas in a browser on a laptop: the tradeoff map plotting candidate journals by impact against time to decision, with the ranked matches beneath it, and the manuscript setup screen on a phone in front

Why Weave Atlas

WeaveAtlasisajournalrecommenderforneuroscientiststhatturnsyourmanuscript,fieldsofstudy,andprioritiesintoaranked,explainableshortlistofjournals,withthereasoningbehindeveryrankingandeveryexclusion.

Transparent by design

Every recommendation explains itself, and every exclusion names the preference that tripped it, so the shortlist is one you can defend.

Tuned to your priorities

Weight impact, speed, and cost. The ranking follows your priorities and rescores live as you refine them.

Part of the ecosystem

Set the winner as your Horizon project's target journal, so the decision lands where the manuscript already lives.

How it works

From manuscript to shortlist.

See how Weave Atlas works, from describing your manuscript to a ranked shortlist you can interrogate.

1Step 1

Describe your manuscript

Give Atlas the title and abstract. That's all it needs to start matching your work against journal scopes.

Atlas setup step 1: the manuscript form with a neuroscience title and its pasted abstract, word count beneath, and the matches panel still empty
2Step 2

Pick your fields of study

Choose up to five MeSH terms, with suggestions as you type, so the match runs on the vocabulary your field actually uses.

Atlas setup step 2: three chosen fields of study as removable chips, three of five selected, with suggested terms offered below the input
3Step 3

Set your priorities

The right journal depends on what you value. Weight impact, time to publication, and cost, and the ranking follows.

Atlas setup step 3: five priority presets from Balanced to Aspirational with Best fit chosen, above access, impact and decision-time filters and the Get recommendations button
4Step 4

Watch the shortlist rank live

The results panel rescores as you type: a best-match card on top, the full ranked list below, and a trade-off map plotting every match on impact versus time to decision.

Atlas results on the Best match tab: Nature Neuroscience at 69% with its impact factor, time to decision, cost and acceptance rate, topic-fit, impact and speed bars, and two runners-up below
5Step 5

Interrogate the reasoning

Open any recommendation to see why it ranks. The excluded tab groups what fell out by the preference that tripped it, so nothing disappears silently.

Atlas results on the Excluded tab: six journals grouped by the preference that ruled them out, five over the decision-time limit and one below the impact floor, each with its actual figure
6Step 6

Set the target, keep the run

Send the chosen journal to a Horizon project as its target, and every run stays in history so you can re-run as the manuscript evolves and compare what changed.

Atlas's set-target dialog: choosing which Horizon manuscript project should take Brain Stimulation as its target journal, listing the researcher's own and shared projects
Capabilities

Built to be questioned

The details that make a recommendation worth trusting.

Best-match card

The top pick up front, with the scores behind it in plain sight.

Trade-off map

Every match plotted on impact versus time to decision, so the trade-offs are visible at a glance.

Run history

Every run is saved. Pin the ones that matter, re-run as the manuscript evolves, and compare.

Straight into Horizon

Set the chosen journal as a Horizon project's target journal in one step.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What Weave Atlas is, how the ranking works, and when you can use it.

What is Weave Atlas?

A journal recommender for neuroscientists. You describe the manuscript, pick your fields of study, and weight what matters to you: impact, time to publication, and cost. Atlas returns a ranked shortlist of journals with the reasoning behind every ranking and every exclusion.

How is Atlas different from other journal finders?

Transparency. Most finders hand you a list and stop there. Atlas shows why each journal ranks where it does, and the excluded view names the preference that removed each journal, so nothing disappears silently and the shortlist is one you can defend to your co-authors.

Is Weave Atlas free?

Yes, Atlas will be free for researchers, like Weave Stream.

When can I use it?

Atlas is in development. If your team or institution wants early access or to help shape it, reach out through the contact section below.

Does it work with the rest of Weave?

Yes. Once you settle on a journal, you can set it as the target journal on a Horizon project, so the decision lands where the manuscript is already being managed.

Is it only for neuroscience?

Atlas is built and tuned for neuroscientists: the field vocabulary and the journal matching are optimized for that domain first.

Built to get you published.

Weave knows neuroscience and your research, so it finds the papers that matter, the journal that fits, and tells you when you're ready to submit.
